2015 Subaru Outback Changes and Performance

2015 Subaru Outback will have its debut at the 2014 Detroit auto show and it will go on sale by the end of next year. Exterior changes that will be featured in 2015 Outback will enhance its look, make it more modern than its predecessor. There changes doesn’t have cosmetic purpose only, it is their main goal to improve quality of 2015 Subaru Outback. More aggressive spoiler improves aerodynamics of this SUV and its rear glass is placed low in order to achieve best possible visibility. But new 2015 Subaru Outback will also keep its traditional body lines and features including off-road style panels, lower grille and roof racks.

Engine choices that will be available remain unconfirmed, but there are few options that were mentioned. 2015 Subaru Outback will probably be run by a 2.5-liter flat-4 engine with 173 horsepower, like the previous model. Beside its power, this engine offers great fuel economy with EPA ratings of 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Another engine option could be a 3.6-liter flat-6 with more power but slightly worse fuel consumption which is rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Some sources indicated that 2015 Subaru Outback could offer the 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine that produces 250 horsepower, currently offered in 2014 Forester. Another option is that this engine will be a part of Outback’s hybrid variant, and in this case, average fuel consumption could be 54.5 mpg, which is pretty impressive.

According to spy photos of new 2015 Subaru Outback, this SUV will have memory seat buttons as part of standard equipment, while for its predecessor it was offered as part of “Special Appearance Package”, so based on these information, list of standard equipment is significantly extended. New Outback will also feature large 18-inch wheels, which will improve its handling. Speaking of improvements, we can expect better fuel economy and passenger volume. Subaru’s engineers used the same tricks on 2015 Outback like for 2014 Forester, and increased passenger space by pulling the base of the A-pillar towards.
