Both fans and car experts eagerly wait for the latest Focus. This mid-size sedan didn’t have any significant update since 2012, so this big redesign is definitely something we all anticipated. Ford officials revealed 2015 Ford Focus just before the 2014 Geneva Auto Show, and it is expected to be presented at the this year’s New York Auto Show. Changes are made in every segment of the vehicle, including its exterior, interior and performance. Some of these upgrades we expected due to Fiesta and Fusion models that were revealed prior to 2015 Ford Focus. Outside new design language of the American car producer is visible.
Engine and fuel economy
Engine upgrade will include all new power unit, as well as some upgrades made to the old ones. Under the hood of 2015 Ford Focus will be featured 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque and it will be capable to deliver 45mpg on the highway which is pretty impressive. This engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Standard engine is unchanged. 2015 Ford Focus will be run by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque, but expect some increase in those numbers. Transmissions will be unchanged also, so base engine will be mated to either five-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic. These gearboxes had some low rates, and we did expect some alterations in this department, but we assume that Ford will not change much, due to its current development of a nine-speed automatic with GM, so we have something to look for in the future. 2015 Ford Focus will, however, feature quieter shock valves, less-intrusive stability control, and unspecified modifications to the rear suspension so the car will lay better on the road.
Exterior, interior and price
Exterior changes are visible, and we instantly notice new hood. Beside that 2015 Ford Focus will have new front fenders and tailgate, but that is not all. More sharp headlights and taillights, as well as some chrome details gave all new perspective on this compact car. Inside the 2015 Ford Focus changes are both functional and eye catching. New steering wheel and revised center stack with better overall control layout will be welcomed. 2015 Ford Focus will also feature eight-inch touch screen that comes with the MyFord Touch infotainment system. Unlike most of the vehicle Focus didn’t lost much of its weight, and it is 300 pound heavier than 2014 Ford Fiesta. Price isn’t revealed yet, but it is expected to record a increase too.
