2015 Ford Expedition was caught out testing in Michigan recently, and even though it was covered in camouflage, some changes were visible. For now, there are no official information from American multinational automaker about its latest 2015 Ford Expedition, but we expect its debut to be in the second half of 2014, and to hit the dealer showrooms shortly after that. One of the most spacious SUVs on the market, 2015 Ford Expedition will keep its long-wheelbase and continue its production with three rows of seats. Front end of the vehicle is redesigned, and it now resembles more to a Ford F-150 pick-up truck models. New grill is now taller and wider, similar to the ones seen on Ford’s F-Series models.
The new generation of Ford’s full-size SUV will have few engine variants included into the offer. Ford EcoBoost engines will probably be available for 2015 Expedition, considering that they provide great power and great fuel economy at the same time. The 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine currently runs the Ford F-150, and there were speculations that it may be found under the 2015 Expedition’s hood, while the 3.7 EcoBoost V6 also remains in the game as a possibility. Another source reveals that Ford might replace the current 5.4L V8 with a new 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. Fuel economy will be improved with extensive usage of light materials, such as aluminum. We don’t expect drivetrain changes, so 2015 Ford Expedition will still be available with either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. As far as transmission, Ford will, most likely replace the 10-speed automatic transmission with a 6-speed automatic.
Currently we don’t have any closer information about what will be changed and how much, but there are some clues what you can expect with this large SUV. Beside vehicle’s front grill, exterior of the 2015 Ford Expedition has few more noticeable changes, and one of them includes large exhaust pipe at the rear of the vehicle. Considering the interior of 2015 Ford Expedition, the main news, which will delight all Expedition’s fans is that newest SUV might get MyFordTouch System. American car manufacture may also add few features as part of standard equipment for latest 2015 Expedition but it is still a secret what exactly that may be. One thing is sure, price for 2015 Ford Expedition will be higher than the current model, but it is no surprise considering that Ford make sure that Expedition customers enjoy in luxury of this SUV.
